Check this great (thought provoking) riddle...just in time for New Years:

    Who am I?

    I am your constant companion

I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.

I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me, and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few lessons I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great men. And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine.

    Plus, the intelligence of man.
You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me and I will put the world at your feet.
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.

    Who am I?

                                          I am HABIT

As we head into the New Year, I am really focusing on this area of my life. No New Year's Resolutions for me, just focusing on building a few very specific habits that cannot help but lead me to a happier, more successful and fulfilling life. My children and I have a family tradition, on the morning of January 1st we have breakfast and then spend about 30 minutes reviewing the goals we set for the previous year, talking though our goals for the new year and writing them down. This year we are going to change that tradition up a bit. Rather than doing our goals, we are going to examine our "habits" and what kind of impact it could have on our lives if we just made a few slight changes or improvements. I feel like keeping things simple but very specific and focused will bring us all great happiness and reward in 2010!

    Thought this was worth sharing....

    Make it a great year!

    Michelle Coolidge
